5.1 Transwarp Core
The TW core is a roughly cylindrical device approximately 1 meters tall and .8 meters in diameter. At the top is a dual reactant inlet port\coil replacement access port. Inside are anywhere from 3-6 TW coils. Only two are technically required to attain transwarp speeds, but more are used for efficiency and redundancies sake (SF ships are too small to really require more than two as a necessity). Attached to the core are three support pylons; inside these are the polarizing field generators that help to project the field generated by the coils. On the surface casing of the core are 15 field frequency attenuators, each operating on a electromagnetic frequency of 1500 kilohertz and a gravimetric frequency of 4 microhertz. Also, there are 110 interior plasma waveguides circling the core, in addition to a annular forcefield guide bar.
The TW field is carried out to the main deflector, which opens the conduit. At this point standard peristaltic action moves the ship forward through the conduit.
