For seven years, Andrew J. Robinson portrayed the Cardassian exile Elim Garak on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. He has lent his voice the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - The Fallen computer game and directed 'Looking for Par'Mach in All the Wrong Places' and the Star Trek: Voyager 'Blood Fever'. Other television shows that Mister Robinson has made guest appearances on include Wings, Judging Amy, The X-Files, Murder, She Wrote, and Law & Order. He has also directed episodes of Gilmore Girls and Judging Amy.
Mister Robinson's first contribution to the Star Trek book series was Star Trek: Deep Space Nine #27 - A Stitch in Time. He has said that it is a novel based on notes and a diary he kept during the television series, to inspire him for his role as Garak.
He also wrote 'The Calling', the only post-finale story (aside from the framing stories) in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - Prophecy and Change anthology.
Mister Robinson's daughter, Rachel, guest starred as Melanie in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine 'The Visitor'. She was also a leading candidate for the role of Ezri Dax for the seventh season.
