The End of The Dominion War Was Just The Beginning...
After fifty years of being oppressed by the Cardassians, the Bajoran people regained their independence. The Bajoran government, consisting of the Council of Ministers & the Vedek Assembly, asked for Federation assistance in administration of the Cardassian-built station designated Terok Nor. Starfleet agreed, and sent their officers to Bajor, to assist in the planet's preperation to enter the United Federation of Planets.
When Starfleet arrived, the station was renamed Deep Space Nine. Commander Benjamin Sisko and his crew of Starfleet officers & Bajoran Militia worked together for seven years. During that time, great discoveries were made, including finding the only known stable wormhole & making contact with the Dominion in the Gamma Quadrant. Two wars were fought, one against the Klingons, the other against the Dominion. The crew suffered the loss of friends, family, and their ship. Through it all, they learned to trust and depend on each other.
The Federation Alliance, consisting of Starfleet, the Romulans, and the Klingon Empire led an offensive against the Dominion. The Jem'Hadar & Breen were pushed back to Cardassia Prime after the Cardassians switched sides, and joined the Alliance. Odo convinced the Female Founder to end the fighting. Chief Miles O'Brien kept a promise to his wife & children, and left the station for a teaching position at Starfleet Academy. Lieutenant Commander Worf resigned his commision, and joined Chancellor Martok on Quo'nos as the Federation Ambassador to the Klingon Empire. Odo agreed to return to the Great Link in the Gamma Quadrant, hoping to bring the other Founders a new understanding about "the Solids". Captain Benjamin Sisko confronted Gul Dukat in the Fire Caves of Bajor, and after ending the threat Dukat & the Pah Wraiths represented, Sisko was pulled into the Celestial Temple of the Prophets.
Now, three months after the war with the Dominion ended, Cardassia is in ruins. Bajor & the Federation are assisting with the relief efforts. Colonel Kira Nerys is in command of Deep Space Nine, and her mixed crew of Starfleet & Militia are going to face even more challanges. Jake Sisko, son of Captain Benjamin Sisko, has been given a prophecy that should bring his father home from the Celestial Temple. Commander Elias Vaughn has made a discovery that changes his life after eighty years of service to Starfleet. Lieutenant Ezri Dax must find a new way to face her future, and how to handle her previous hosts' memories of the past in her life after taking command in a crisis.
A message of peace delivered after a destructive and deadly attack causes mistrust and fear of a return to the bloody conflict that ended not so long ago. A seemingly random murder of an old friend by an unknown assailant on the station's Promenade leads to startling realizations for both Colonel Kira Nerys and Kasidy Yates. Lieutenant Ro Laren's investigation of the prylar's attack leads her to highest religious order of Bajor.
Join the crew as they enter a new chapter in Star Trek history.
