Dora Skop was the sister of my grandmother, Sarah Rachel.
Their father was REB HIRSH SKOP. His first wife, mother to Sarah and Dora, died young. Reb Hirsh Skop remarried but had no other children. Hirsch Skop was a bookbinder. He was born in Latvia 12/12-1854 (Dvinsk?) and he died in Copenhagen, Denmark 11/8-1933. His second wife was Matla - born 20/5-1862 and died 29/6-1947. I have not been able to ascertain the name and dates of his first wife, Sarah and Dora's mother who must have been born in the 1850's and died somewhere between 1880 and about 1898.
The Photograph below is taken around 1880 in Kherson. I have no information as to what he was doing there.
