Location: (2004)
Les Sherman Park, east of west baseball diamond.

  • Botanical Name: Larix laricina
  • Moist Conditions/Sun/Attracts Wildlife
  • Height & Spread: 12 -15m x 5m
  • Form: narrow pyramid
  • Leaf: 2.5cm long, soft, light green, needles occur in whorls;
    deciduous-needles turn yellow in the fall then drop
  • Bark: smooth grey on young trees and turning scaly
    and reddish-brown with age
  • Fruit: 1cm egg shaped cones on short spurs
  • Use: specimen tree
