Les Sherman Park, east of west baseball diamond.
- Botanical Name: Larix laricina
- Moist Conditions/Sun/Attracts Wildlife
- Height & Spread: 12 -15m x 5m
- Form: narrow pyramid
- Leaf: 2.5cm long, soft, light green, needles occur in whorls;
deciduous-needles turn yellow in the fall then drop
- Bark: smooth grey on young trees and turning scaly
and reddish-brown with age
- Fruit: 1cm egg shaped cones on short spurs
- Use: specimen tree
