Location: (2004)
Rotary Park, near Albert Memorial Bridge.

  • Botanical Name: Ulmus americana
  • Drought Tolerant/Sun/Attracts Wildlife
  • Height & Spread: 18-30m x 14-18m
  • Form: vase-shaped; single stem
  • Leaf: alternate; 10-15cm long; uneven leaf base; double toothed edge; yellow fall colour
  • Bark: dark grey, shallow to deeply furrowed with narrow ridges
  • Fruit: flat disc with seed in centre and notch at one end; May
  • Problems: DED; cankerworm, aphid, germination of seeds
  • Use: excellent shade or street tree; seeds are eaten by birds
