Location: (2004)
Rotary Park, far west.

  • Botanical Name: Acer ginnala
  • Drought Tolerant/Sun/Attracts Wildlife
  • Height & Spread: 5m x 3m
  • Form: low headed tree or tall shrub
  • Leaf: three-lobed leaves often with red veins and leaf stems;
    opposite; red fall colour
  • Bark: smooth, grey and patterned like snakeskin
  • Flower: small, yellowish-white clusters
  • Fruit: two-winged seedpods start red and turn straw colour as ripen
  • Problems: iron chlorosis
  • Use: good specimen tree for small yards; seeds attract birds
