Location: (2004)
Rotary Park, west of Albert Memorial Bridge.
- Botanical Name: Pinus ponderosa
- Drought Tolerant/Sun/Attracts Wildlife
- Height & Spread: 15m x 6m
- Form: cylindrical, taproot
- Leaf: dull green needles are 15-20cm long in bundles of three
- Bark: orange-brown; furrowed
- Fruit: large, 10cm by 7.5cm cones armed with sharp bristles
- Use: good, long-lived specimen tree; provides winter cover for birds
