Almost a year since he started building this magnificent half scale replica of a Series II (which took 300 hours over four months - seemed more like six to me), Tim and I decided it was time for a photo shoot.
Tim had a deadline in fact for the construction and that was for a birthday party on 12th December. He actually completed it at 11.35pm the night before – with just 25 minutes to spare.
The original plans, which were bought at the LRE show at Billing, were RHD but this has been made as LHD and Richard Shepherd (who owns Toyland UK Ltd.) built the brakes to be LHD for this model.
It is driven by a 200 W motor powered by a 105Ah deep discharge battery.

When Tim carried the wheels and hardware kit back from the UK, the parts weighed 35kgs and the excess baggage charge was going to be £ 150 - but he “got away” with £75 ! As a result, the total cost of the plans, hardware kit, battery, charger, freight and materials came to just over £850
It was also shown in the May edition of the Land Rover World magazine
