PINK ROCK

May, and its getting hot with temperatures running into the low 40's, so this was planned for the last trip using the Defender this season as I have no working Air Con.

Therefore this was an early morning trip starting at 0700

The trip was planned to have a minimum number of vehicles with mainly experienced people to avoid having to deal with problems associated with novices and spend a lot of time digging people out, although we did have one newbie with us who had some previous experience

The plan was to go to Pink Rock where lots of vehicles got stuck on the Gulf News Fun Drive.

I lead with Chris in his Rangie on the tail. We also had Alan in his lifted SWB Patrol, Alex in his SWB Prado and a new guy Chris (Saul) with his girlfriend Taboo in a Jeep Wrangler

Some interesting steep slipfaces although short for the main part of the trip to the rock and Alan popped a tyre at the bottom of one. He used his Hi-Lift with special device for the wheel and we reinflated the tyre
