Growing up to about 2 feet long, this insect has large antenna, 6 legs and 4 large brown coloured wings that fold back to a semi-armoured protective carapace.
The Brown beetle has long developed a symbiotic relationship with the huge Gi-ants. Related to another species, the Horned Beetle, that has also cracked the olfactory and tactile code that the ants used to identify each other, it was not as predatory as that other specie, preferring to feast on the small parasites that infest the G-ants rather than the G-ants eggs and young. The warm moist air of the Deridous 4 tropical zone is abundant with insect life from large to microscopic as it was teaming with other forms of life.
Brown beetle "infested" G-Ant nests tended to be allot healthier and vermin free.
These beetles are often seen riding on the backs of the G-ants cleaning crevices of parasites. They can fly short distances and have excellent visual and olfactory senses.
