System Information for the Deridous System
The Deridous system is a small system containing 5 planets and 2 Asteroid belts. This system is on the far edge of Federation Space near Gorn and Romulan controlled space. This sector of space is known as "The Crossroads" and is mostly unexplored and sparcely inhabited.
The major features of this system are as follows:
Deridous Prime is a very Hot Yellow G Class Star similar to Sol. It is listed as star H 64356, Class: G0V. It's location is: X= -306.3 Y= -98.8 Z= -74.3 It is approximately 133.9 LY away from the Gorn, 162.8 LY from Romulus, and 330 LY from Earth.
Also Approximately 150 LY to KNZ, Quo'nos 401.9 LY
Deridous 1 is a Class Y Planet defined by the Daystrom Institute Technical Library as "...a Demon class planet, these are the most inhospitable worlds known to the Federation. The surface temperatures are at least 500 Kelvin, and the atmosphere is highly toxic and corrosive. Worst of all, Demon class planets have very high levels of thermionic radiation which make it dangerous for a vessel even to enter orbit."
Deridous II is a Class N planet. Covered by Water it is so flooded by radiation that it is sterile and will never support life. There are no landmasses and the planet is too hot for the poles to have been frozen.
Deridous III is a Class D Planet, completely airless and lifeless, however there are valuable mineral deposits located there and some mining is possible.
Deridous IV is the 2nd largest planet in the system and is Class M, located far enough from the Sun that the high radiation that plagues the closer 3 planets is mostly absent from Deridous. The planet remains very hot and humid and is completely covered by Jungle. It is also extremely stable and has no continental plates. There is ample water on the planet and high volumes of rainfall. Deridous V is a huge J Class Gas Giant.
The system is ringed by two massive Asteroid Belts with mining opperations starting up and the occasional Pirate Hideout.
