"Morana Thanatos"
January 1, 2381 - January 4, 2381

"I never saw someone try so hard to hide his imperfections..." - N.V. Conyers - Chief CONN Officer

On January 1st, 2381 the USS Discovery is leaving behind the nightmares of Tychor IV for the next star system on her survey path. Celebrating New Year's of 2381 lift's everyone's spirits, perhaps none more than those of Captain Eastwood and Lieutenant Commander Bogan. It is a night they all will remember as one of the best in their lives.

But the joys of New Year's quickly fade into the cold panic of lost friends and love as Lieutenant Commander Bogan mysteriously disappears from the Discovery. Left behind, and separated from Ashla, Captain Eastwood is visited and tormented by a beautiful, but very cold red headed woman who offers him anything he wants in exchange for his love.

Back on Earth, hundreds of light years away from the Gamma Quadrant and the USS Discovery, former Starfleet Captain is tormented and abducted by the same red haired woman. Suffering from the fatal Dillon Sinclair Syndrome, Ace is cruelly reminded of his failures in his past relationships, and how no matter how much he may have wished it, Ashla Bogan never loved him.

Back on the Discovery, the crew is being visited regularly by the red haired woman, and her venomous offers of the world. Slowly Captain Eastwood begins to wear down, torn apart by the loss of Ashla Bogan and the telepathic connection they share. Sedated by the ship's counselor, he pushes the crew for solutions to their problems.

No solutions arrive, and the woman becomes more bold, revealing her identity as Morana Thanatos, the mythical goddess of death. She is here merely to toy with them, much as she did the crew of the USS Liberty two years before. The Liberty crew at that time included Ace Decade and Ashla Bogan.

Trapped in Morana's realm, Ace must endure painful flashback after flashback. Lieutenant Commander Bogan is locked in a simple gray box, isolated form the world and left to dwell in her own thoughts. Unknown to them all, they have a champion in the form of Raiden Ankemi - Morana's nemesis. Slowly he weakens her powers, and she begins to make mistakes.

The Discovery learns of her identity, and discovers her prison of gray boxes and gives a heated chase. Eventually catching up, they force the prison from high warp, and begin making plans to board it and rescue the prisoners trapped within. It is at this time that Raiden Ankemi overpowers Morana and appears on the Discovery with the captured crewmembers, and other prisoners. He has come to right Morana's wrongs, and apologizes for her evil misdeed.

It is at this time Captain Eastwood learns of Raiden and Morana's history, and their role in it. However, he is also informed for the damages to be repaired, they cannot retain any memories of what happened. In a matter of hours their memories will be wiped clean of the incident, and time set back to where it was before Morana interfered. The Discovery crew is given a few hours to reflect.

At this time, former Captain Decade, jealous of Eastwood and Bogan's relationship explodes in rage, screaming at Captain Eastwood, gambling on the fact it will not matter what he says or does in a matter of hours.. Quick to leap to his defense, Ashla chides Ace in a scathing lecture highlighting his utter failures as a romantic partner, and as a friend. The two Discovery officers depart shortly thereafter, and Ace is left alone, locked in his quarters until time is restored.

In short time, the moment to return arrives. Gathered on the bridge, Lieutenant Frost gives Ace a broken nose as a reminder of who's ship he is on, and who's friend he had insulted. Before Ace can react, time is returned, people are restored to their proper places and frames of mind, and life carries on as if nothing happened.
