Having only had a minor bimble in the desert over the last month due to my parents being in Dubai, and certain family obligations to be with them instead of zooming out into the desert every free oportunity I could get, it was with a resounding YES when my colleague, Bala, asked me if I could take him out into the desert in his new Pajero.
Since Bala had never driven in sand before, the plan was to go my usual easy route to Fossil Rock from Al-Awir, sticking mainly to track, with some minor sand dunes to negotiate.
Bala soon found what not to do
