Part Two

After the second check point we began to catch up with some groups that were ahead of us. Essentially we were travelling in two groups, first one by myself (4 vehicles) and the second by Jon Tan (3 vehicles - all Japanese), however we were more or less together.

We came across a major hold up when a Galloper was blocking the main track with few other optional routes around him.

At this point I lost Richard, and John lost Fong. I also managed to get cross axeled on a ridge (forgot to take a photograph), and we got held up later by a cross axeled Jeep (see below)

Then we began to run into some trouble!

Tim, Petr and myself managed to cross the above ridge with no problem but Fong took a differnet approach with perhaps too much right foot and nose dived.

Fortunately the damage was only cosmetic, and a replacement steel bumper will replace the more expensive plastic one.

At this point a red Nissan Terrrano had joined us, and remained on the other side of that ridge, or so we thought 2 ridges on.

Tim thought the guy was not confident in crossing so he drove back and got cross axeled. Petr and I went back to help Tim (in Petr's Jeep) and we got stuck trying to pull Tim off the ridge, bent, unremovable shackles on a wire cable added to our problems, we now had two vehicles joined together!

Fortunately the cable was linked and we managed to separate the vehicles and tuck the remaining cable safely on each vehicle.

Oh yes and that red Nissan Terrano, he was waiting for somebody! Grrrrrr
