Once Alex, Oggie and Colin joined us we were soon heading south at a resonable pace. Mike in his Land Cruiser and myself taking up the rear.

The desert scenery was fantastic early in the morning, and it was difficult not to stop to photograph the dunes, but we had a long distance to travel and could not afford frequent stops, which considering the number of vehicles involved was going to prove difficult.

Unfortunately none of Alex's group had radios, and we kept them in between our group so that if they fell behind we could inform Dave and Jon who were leading.
The next vehicle to get stuck was Oggie in his Range Rover due to running his tyre pressures at 20 something.
