SHUTTLEPOD ONE
Captain Archer sent a shuttlepod carrying Tucker and Reed on a separate mission, while the Enterprise is busy investigating an asteroid field. Disaster happens to the shuttlepod leaving it damaged and the main sensor grid is not operable. Tucker and Reed manage to make it back to the rendezvous coordinates only to discover that the Enterprise was apparently destroyed when it crashed into an asteroid and they inferred that all the crew had died when the Enterprise was destroyed.
