SUBSPACE RADIO
The subspace radio is an onboard communication system aboard the Enterprise NX-01starship, it is used to communicate with other ships in the area, or planets in the sector. Captain Jonathan Archer receives his mission orders from Admiral Forrest at Starfleet Command in San Francisco, they use subspace radio channels in order to communicate. The way that subspace radio works is similar to a radio except that the radio signals are transmitted and received through subspace instead of air. One of the drawbacks of using subspace radio is that the quality of the communication is not perfect as the ship travels further into space so Archer and his team came up with the idea of deploying subspace relay satellites in order to boost the quality of the signal.
