TRICORDER
The tricorder is a device that is used to scan for life signs of members of the crew or alien races, to detect devices in a room or to do a medical scan on a patient. There are two different designs of the tricorder that are used on the Enterprise, there is the circular design that T'Pol uses which might be a Vulcan design and the rectangular design that is a Starfleet design that the members of Starfleet use.
