SYNOPSIS

This episode starts off where Shockwave part 1 ended last season where Captain Jonathan Archer is trapped in the 31st Century and the Suliban have surrounded the Enterprise. The Suliban captures the Enterprise and it is taken back to the Helix. The orders were that they would destroy the ship if Archer wasn’t onboard. Suliban have detected temporal signatures aboard the Enterprise which worries them so they attempt to contact the ‘Future Guy’ for instruction on what to do because their plans didn't go well.

Archer and Daniels made a cross-space time communicator out of the equipment that Archer has on him and some low-tech gear. Jonathan Archer used the communicator to contact Enterprise in the 22nd Century to tell Malcolm to fetch a futuristic device from Daniels former quarters but a Suliban caught him with the device. Silik tried using the device in order to contact the 'Future Guy' but instead of the 'Future Guy' appearing, Captain Jonathan Archer appeared and he had a fight with Silik.

In order for Enterprise to free of Suliban, Charles Tucker faked a reactor overload aboard the Enterprise in Main Engineering, the Suliban towed the ship away from the Helix and the Suliban pods that surrounded the ship veered away from the Enterprise. The Enterprise got away by jumping into warp with Silik as their prisoner.

NOTES

  • T'Pol still doesn't believe in time travel even though there was a temporal signal in the turbolift where Captain Archer was transported to the 31st Century and Archer returned back to his own time period.
  • Jonathan Archer found a paperback book on the Romulan Star Empire in a library in the 31st Century
  • In the normal timeline, there was a monument remembering the Federation but when Archer was transported to the future, the timeline was altered. There was no monument so the Federation never existed in this timeline.
