Returned to the main road and then descended back into the wadi a few Km on, took a right at the first fork and then ended up around 14 Km into the middle of nowhere after encountering various dead ends (as well as a dead donkey!)
This resulted in having to double back in order to return to the main road which was within 1 Km of my furthest point.
CONCLUSION: TAKE THE LEFT FORK
Above: Gravel was common in some parts of the wadi
Below: Dead donkey (smelly)
Above: Some tracks were easy
Below: The gravel bed in the wadi was similar to driving on sand at times
Some parts of this wadi were impassable and we had to drive up out of them and then descend once more later. The traction control system came into play ascending some of the slopes as they were loose rock and gravel.
I also used the descent control frequently when returning to the wadi.
