As the Land Rover Club had planned on a trip to Zhiggi Beach on the east coast this weekend, and were leaving at 14:00 hrs on the Thursday, I had to give this one a miss.
Fortunately Peter Fell and some of his colleagues were going moon sighting to determine whether Ramadan would begin this weekend and invited me along.
Although it was a nightime start, Peter had a location near Dubai just outside Al Awir close to the Dubai - Hatta Road.
A bonus for this trip was the company of my daughter Yanni and an incredible meal brought by Trish.
The morning after the night before, saw some bleary eyes and all the daughters having toasted marshmallows for breakfast.
