We headed towards Maleihah to the first petrol station where we filled up with fuel and pumped the tyres back up to normal pressures. Here we met a local in an ex-UAE Army vehicle.
Using Off Road in the Emirates book, we soon got lost due to the inaccuracy and vague descriptions of routes, and besides, the two books are 10 years old!
After following a graded track for some time we ended up almost back to where we began. We then decided to head back to Dubai as Richard was feeling a bit under the weather. On the way back to the main Dhaid-Madam road we came across a camel herd crossing our path.
Back in Dubai, I re-packed the car for another overnighter with my daughter and her friend down at the beach.
