Africans use art in many ways. Spiritually is the main subject that Africans use art for. It is very important in their modern day lives. Africans perform many spiritual acts, such as dances. In these dances or what ever ritual they perform, the use of art plays a huge role. Art allows them to show their emotions through the rituals. The quality of art items they use such as masks may not be really high however, and that doesn’t matter to them. They just want to try and show their emotions through their art. Rituals performed by Africans help preserve the history of Africa and rituals are still performed today. Africans use art in the music they make and orally with the traditional clothes they wear, along with folktales they make.

The art made by Africans has preserved and still preserves the history of Africa today. The clothes that Africans also wear in their "tribes" also represents their art. The clothes are decorated in an African artsy way, which obviously shows how it’s a part of their everyday lives. African art has spread throughout many cultures including cultures throughout America. Many people have blended their own art with African art. This expands art and cultures. Most of the art in America gets its roots from Africans, not all but the majority of Art in America has blended with America.
