Kentucky Trip Reports
In June of 2005, a business trip to Glasgow, Kentucky gave me the opportunity to visit Mammoth Cave National Park. I was only able to spend one evening in the park, but I made the most of it. First I hiked a short loop that included the emergence of the River Styx, the entrance to Dixon Cave, and bluffs overlooking the Greek River. Later I joined a guided tour as we visited the Star Chamber, with our only light being provided by lanterns. In March of 2006, I returned to Glasgow and hiked in the Big South Fork Recreation Area on the way there. I did two separate hikes, the first in the Blue Heron Area, and the second to Yahoo Falls and Yahoo Arch. To read more trip reports from hikes in the Big South Fork Recreation Area, be sure to check out the Tennessee page. In July, 2011, Christy and I drove to Wyoming for our summer vacation. We spent our first night camping in the Red River Gorge, and I did a short hike to Gray's Arch.     Photos. In early July, 2023, I took a trip with Christy and our 6-month old son Jackson to northern Michigan, Minnesota, and Iowa. We spent our first night in Huntington, WV. The next day we did a short hike at Carter Caves State Park, visiting three natural bridges.     Photos |
