North Dakota Trip Reports
In August, 2018 Christy and I took a cross-country trip to the northern Rockies. We drove from North Carolina to southwestern Michigan, where we visited friends. Then we continued on to the Badlands of South Dakota. We spent the majority of the trip in Yellowstone National Park and the Wind River Range in Wyoming. At the end of the trip we drove the Beartooth Highway to Red Lodge, Montana and continued on to Billings. The next day we drove up to Medora, North Dakota to visit the southern segment of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. We spent the night at the Cottonwood Campground on the Little Missouri River. Despite bad weather, we drove the scenic park loop road twice and did some short hikes. I also did a more substantial solo hike on the upper portion of thePaddock Creek Trail and Painted Canyon Trail.     (Photos). |
