Biography:
Real Name: Jeremiah A. Griffith
Location: Wichita Kansas, USA
Beyond the uniform!
Admiral Griffith, Jeremiah as he is known in real life, is a 21 year avid writer, reader, and martial artist. Jeremiah is married with one son (9 months old in December of 04). His wife, Meghan also serves within IDF as Rear Admiral S. Karmin.
Jeremiah started his career in IDF in November of 2001 when IDF was still young and just beginning to blossom. His first ship was the USS Patriot where he served as Executive Officer for a short while. After serving on the Patriot Griffith was given the chance at a command and took on the task as CO of the USS Avalon-A. He commanded the Avalon-A for several months and enjoyed this task, however like many other situations Real Life began to interfere and because of family problems Jeremiah was forced to step down and left his Executive officer in charge. A few months later real life began to calm again and Jeremiah returned to service to find that the Avalon had been decommissioned during his absence, this greatly saddened Jeremiah but he chose to continue on so he started looking for a new simm when a friend of his, Ace Decade came to him and asked if he would be interested in assuming command of the USS Liberty, Jeremiah was happy to do so but also explained that he wouldn't take complete command, the Liberty had been one of IDF's most renowned ships and the ships success was mostly due to her Captain, so Jeremiah accepted the position on the terms that whenever Ace was ready to return Jeremiah would gladly step aside. Jeremiah commanded the Liberty for almost 6 months and during that time was promoted to Division Director, but just as Jeremiah had promised when Ace came back, Jeremiah stepped aside. Shortly after this Jeremiah was also asked my Admiral Dragonetti to step down as DD. He refuted her reasoning and requested that he be allowed to retire instead of be forced to resign. This was authorized and therefore Jeremiah retired from simming. He continued to post with minor characters throughout the fleet but had no desire to take command again, and so he remained in the shadows of IDF for a long time. However, Jeremiah has always been interested in IDF's history so when he noticed that the Historian's position was opened he pestered Adm. Dragonetti... after several attempts he realized that he was being overlooked, but one day he saw Admiral West online and decided to give it one more shot, within five minutes he was hired for the position and on the job. Jeremiah continued to be the Historian for almost a month, until one fine afternoon he was approached by Admiral Hiron in an unofficial capacity and asked if he would be interested in becoming an Admiral. Jeremiah was of course reluctant at first but after a few moments of deliberation decided why not, little did he know that he wasn't being hired to be a division director but one of the Senior Admiralty Members. A few weeks later the official announcement was made and Jeremiah became Admiral Griffith, and took the position as Director of Fleet Personnel and Relations- where he has served since. During his tenure (so far) Admiral Griffith has created many new directives and forums for communication and the well being of IDF. It is his sincerest hope that his actions today will create a better IDF for the simmers of both today and tomorrow!
Outside of IDF Jeremiah works for the United States Government. He enjoys reading, writing, exercising, martial arts, and most importantly playing with his son and loving his wife. Jeremiah is a very friendly and outgoing individual and is usually online most of the day everyday, whether at home or not. Jeremiah feels that the strongest benefit he has received from IDF are the friends he has gained from this fleet.
