My name is James Staples. In June, 2002 I completed my MA in Applied Linguistics at the University of California at Davis. In August, I
headed to Karaganda, a city in Kazakhstan, to teach English for a year through an organization called
Educational Services International
. As I adjust to life in Kazakhstan, it is my plan to post images of my
surroundings and the people I meet. I hope you find the contents of
this site both educational and entertaining!
You can contact me by email or snail mail. The address below is for the office of my school in Karaganda. I recommend using both the Latin and Cyrillic addresses. Be forewarned that mailings (especially packages) can take a long time to reach Kazakhstan, and that nothing valuable should be sent (especially money), as mail may be searched. |
