Lynx Lose in Heartbreaker
by
Jim Mavrokefalos
The Minor
Lynx lost a heartbreaker last night in the bottom of the sixth inning
8 to 7 and were eliminated from further tournament play. It was
a seesaw battle versus Chateauguay with the lead changing 4
times. Cameron Maag pitched a very strong game for the Lynx with
Jalen Smith and Daniel-Alfredo Ceballos-Vasquez chipping in with
some timely hits in the top of sixth to take the lead. But
Chateauguay didn't give up and got 3 runs in the bottom of the
sixth to win the game.
Congratulations to both teams
for a very exciting game. With a special thanks and
congratulations to our Lynx coaches Jason Doucet, Bradley Thomas
and Jesse Gouldson for the great job they did again this year with
the Minor Lynx. A VERY BIG THANK YOU.
As for our players keep your
heads up, you guy's showed us allot of grit and character in the
way you came back in tonight's game. The rest of the Minor Lynx
are: Jake Titleman, (who played the last 2 games with what could
possibly be a fractured glove thumb-what grit.) Liam Wyatt, Brian
Mangrum, Laurent Dupuis Solliec, Louis-Xavier Labrosse, Yannick
Leblanc, Jamal Noel, Lucas-Alexander Fox and (The mouth that never
stops.) Gerry-Dean Mavrokefalos.
And a very big thank you to the
13th player, the parents of the Minor Lynx for all the time,
effort and support they gave this team. We gave these young men
something they will treasure for years to come.
Don't forget the Minor Lions are in
the semi-finals this evening Wednesday July 20th at
Bedard park in St.Lazare, game time is 7:30PM. Lets come out and
support them. Hope to see you there.
