Our
last player of the week for the 2005 NDG baseball season is Maria
Celestino. Maria put on quite a show during Championship Day, driving
in five runs, four with a grand-slam home-run, as she led her team,
the Major Orioles, to victory over the very challenging Major
A's, 8 - 5. Congratulations Maria.

Jared Worall

Jared
Waroll of the Major Lynx team pitched a gem of a game last Tuesday against the perennial
power-house Valleyfield holding them to only one run on two hits.
Jared also drove in the only two Lynx runs. Needless to say,
Jared put on quite a show. Congratulations Jared on such a great
pitching performance.

Gerry-Dean Mavrokefalos

As
part of the Minor Lynx team, Gerry-Dean hit .800 for the
tournament. Jason Doucet, the Minor Lynx coach said,
"Gerry-Dean was a key leader on the team. Negotiations
have begun to renew Gerry’s contract for next year."
Congratulations
Gerry-Dean, it's good to see that all that practice has paid off
and then some.

Ian "Sarge" Einheiber

During
the past week Ian Einheiber, " Sarge " to his team-mates,
has been a one-man show. Ian has gone 11 for 11 with two walks in
his last thirteen at-bats, hit a grand-slam, and has been the
winning pitcher twice in the past four NDG Junior Lynx games. Way to go Ian.
