"We should talk," she tells him.
He nods, unsure of what they need to discuss, but aware that something has disturbed her. He wonders if it is his comment regarding her grandchildren, the grandchildren he silently wishes would be his. How close he had come to saying, "Our grandchildren," but stopped knowing that it was neither the time nor the place for such dreams.
But will there ever be a time, a place, where he can tell her what is on his mind, his heart? Or even the truth about his son?
Meanwhile, the battle continues and he must focus.
