History

Both Isabella's parents were rescued by the USS Enterprise-B in 2293 from the SS Lakul, one of two transport vessels attempting to ferry El Aurian refugees which got caught by gravimetric distortions surrounding the 'Nexus' energy ribbon.

When her parents reached safety, her mother found that she was pregnant, something that she'd been told she'd never be again. Eighteen months later, Isabella was born. Like most El Aurian children, although her mental abilities grew at what would be deemed 'human' rates, her physical growth was much slower. Some have suggested that the reason El Aurians are such good listeners was because they have to spend so much time as an infant listening to adults. No El Aurian has ever talked about their childhood to others.

She finally reached her adult age after nearly forty years and has changed very little since. Although now almost eighty in Earth years, physically she has the body of a twenty year old. Since reaching forty, she has been working aboard several Starfleet vessels and on various Starfleet bases. Mainly she worked as a shuttle pilot, starting with the non-commissioned rank of crewman recruit and working upto the rank of Petty Officer first class.

Her first experience of flying was at the age of twenty, when she took control of an old cargo skipper, which she almost crashed into an asteroid. But instead of quitting, she continued to fly and became an experienced pilot.

During the Cardassian war, she flew a Peregrine fighter, something which she again returned to during the Dominion war. During that war, she was forced to take over command of the fighter wing she was with, when the squadron leader and XO were both killed. Although honoured for both her abilities and her bravery, she was not allowed to take up a command position.

After the war, Isabella spent the next five years working on the design and testing of the Valkyrie fighter. However, at the age of seventy-five she decided to attend the academy so that she could gain a command position and graduated in 2383.

Isabel maybe fresh out of the Academy and the 'Talon' squadron maybe her first posting as a Starfleet officer, but she is the squadron's executive officer mainly because of years of experience. She is well aware of this being a tough first assignment and that joining the Leviathan's 'Talon' squadron as XO is both an honour and a privilege. Although many think that she got the posting only because of her age and race, she actually achieved the position through her own merit.

Coming top in all her flight classes at the academy, she has extremely good hand-eye co-ordination making her an ideal candidate for the academy's 'Top Gun' school, which she graduated from with the highest grades seen a year after leaving the academy.

Personality

Very easy going and always the life of the party, she also like to be the centre of attention. Just like many young women, she has an eye for a good looking guy. Her parents often joke that the only reason she joined Starfleet was because of the large number of men in uniform.

But she is also a committed soldier and when put to the test, she excels at everything. She is obviously excited at being part of the 'Talon' squadron, especially as it's executive officer.

Hobbies

Amongst her interests is a fascination with late twentieth century rock music, which she enjoys playing at full volume. (The only way to listen to it, so she claims.)

Her favourite flight manoeuvre is the 'Steer Stomp', a landing style created by Isabella. It involves raising the nose of a shuttle just before landing and then dropping the nose onto the deck hard.
