"Captain." Junora Loris announced from the operations console. "Long range sensors are detecting energy bursts ahead."

"Confirmed." Dukal stated from the tactical station he was manning. "I'm detecting three vessels, but at this distance I can't identify their configurations."

"Helm, take us out of the slipstream." Captain Taybar announced. "Bridge to Engineering."

[Engineering here.] Lieutenant Taline stated over the comm. [What can I do for you ?]

"We're dropping out of the quantum slipstream now and will be continuing at warp." Aki replied. "Bring the auxiliary warp core online ASAP Lieutenant."

[Understood.] Taline confirmed. [You'll have warp in five minutes. Engineering out.]

"Leaving the slipstream in five, four, three, two, one." Brayden announced as the vessel returned to normal space.

"Any luck with the sensors." Aki enquired.

"Still too far away." Dukal replied.

"Keep an eye on it." Aki suggested. "As soon as you can identify the vessels, let me know."

Just then Lieutenant Commander Barker arrived on the Bridge.

"We've dropped out of the slipstream I see." He commented.

"Long range sensors have detected some kind of fire-fight." Captain Taybar stated. "We're going to continue using the warp drive. It will take us a few more hours, but we can approach using the refractive shielding."

"Maybe it would be prudent to have the Talon squadron on standby." Chu suggested.

"Good idea." Aki replied. "Bridge to Lieutenant Ka'leth."
[Ka'Leth here Captain.] The Klingon replied.

"Have your squadron prepared to launch in three hours." Aki ordered. "We've detected a number of vessels close to our destination, we may need your fighter support."

[We will be prepared.] Ka'Leth confirmed. [Do we have any idea of what kind of forces we can expect ?]

"Not at the moment." Aki replied. "We have detected three large vessels, but their size or configuration are still unknown. We're too far away to make a definitely ident, but I'll have Lieutenant Dukal pass any new information down to your operations room."

[Thank you Captain.] Ka'Leth stated. [We will be ready to launch at your command. Ka'Leth out.]

[Engineering to Bridge.] Taline announced. [The warp core is now online, you can jump to warp when ready.]

"Thank you Lieutenant." Aki replied. "Bridge out. Helm continue on our present course, maximum speed."

"Course laid in Captain, at warp six point three." Brayden announced from the helm. "We will be at our destination in three and a half hours."

"Good." Aki replied. "Yellow Alert."
