A shield system which allows several vessels to interlock their shields, creating a single all-encompassing shield bubble. The advantages of this system is that as all the vessel are contributing, more powerful vessels or those in least danger can provide more power to the shield. Also the more vessels that contribute to the shield, the less energy each vessel is required to divert to the shield bubble, allowing more power to be diverted to the weapons, sensors and weapons.

The Union shielding was an ideal system to implement into the Valkyrie fighter, as the Valkyrie was designed to fly in formations. A flight of six Valkyrie can produce a shield bubble as powerful as a small starship, whilst allowing each vessel more power for its weapons and propulsion.

The key to this system working is in the advanced computer system based on third generation bio-neural circuitry. This system can communicate with the systems on the other vessels and route any surplus power to the shields. This system is usually automated, but the pilots can set limits on the amount of power the shield can draw.
