I first went to Scotland in 98 as part of my Contiki tour. What a beautiful place. There is something mystical about Scotland, for some reason when I read the Hobbit, I pictured England and Scotland to be the like the places described in the book. It's just such a beautiful country and the people would do anything for you. Rob and I went back in 2000 to visit some friends and go to a soccer game in Glasgow (Rangers v's Dunfermline), we got a flight with Ryan air for 50p (which is AUD $1.20!!!) not bad eh!
A bagpipe player As we drove into Scotland (after leaving Hadrians Wall) there was a Scotsman (left) playing his bagpipes, it was great because our bus driver put on some bagpipe tunes as we were driving through the countryside, it gave you that real 'Scottish' feeling!
Loch Ness - see what I mean about everything being 'mystical'.

Me & crazy scotsman Iain
This is a bloke named Iain who told us all about the garb the Scottish wear and why, it was awesome! We also tried haggis which to me tasted like a spicy pie without the pastry.

Glencoe - The Valley of the Weeping - a very haunting place and the tale behind it is so sad

Inverness
This is a place called Inverness (just beautiful) we stopped here for the night because as part of our Contiki tour, they have a fake wedding at Gretna Green (which is a place just on the border), back in the day couples used to run away to Scotland to get married because you only had to be 16 to get married (In England it was 18), so young couples used to jump the border, and get married by the locksmiths. My tour manager made me the bride and an Israely guy named Yuval was the groom. When we were in Inverness we went out and had Bucks and Hen's nights - it was AWESOME! The nightclub owners gave all us girls free champagne all night! Below is our wedding photo which was also our group photo (tour manager Jen and bus driver Adrian on the far left, both wearing blue)
