Directions:
Assess the Web page(s) containing your online electronic edition newspaper according to the following criteria:
(You must defend the final mark expected  with a detailed description of the number, quality and degree of completeness of your theme entries in your Web page(s). Be prepared to demonstrate and defend your work to instructor and/or class as part of a practical test. 

MAIN FEATURES: Each of the following sections is worth 10 marks (total of 70):

_____ LAYOUT: Quality of nameplate/logo, index and overall layout, format and degree of completeness of your paper.

_____1. FRONT PAGE: At least FIVE Northern and Aboriginal news stories or local news: concerts, accidents, celebrations, . Your stories must exhibit your knowledge of good journalistic style: headlines, inverted pyramid, 5 Ws, leads, editing, etc. 

_____2. FEATURE STORY: Your feature story on Pukatawagan complete with appropriate illustrations. Drawing upon your previous research, give a full description of this Northern settlement, zeroing in on climate, history, topography, culture, etc.

_____3. EDITORIAL & LETTER(S) TO THE EDITOR: Your editorial views on major Aboriginal or Northern issues, expressing strong personal points of view.

_____4. INTERVIEW & RELATED COLUMN:
Part 1: Your interview with a well-known local elder or personality: background,  qualifications, opinions, interesting anecdotes, etc. Source notes made earlier this year or adapted from the interview material found in the Castel/Westfall Cree Dictionary & Memoirs of Elders.
Part 2: Use this interview information to write a column about this person, tying his/her achievements to the concerns of today's readers if possible.

_____5. A VARIETY OF SPECIAL FEATURES: i.e. Advice Column ~ Display and/or Classified Ads ~ Columns that reflect your personal interests ~ Reference Links Section ~ etc.

_____6. ENTERTAINMENT, WOMEN'S /LIFESTYLE or SPORTS SECTION: A section reflecting your main areas of interest or areas of research.


BASIC ACTIVITIES (10 marks - Take 1 mark for using each of the following in your paper)
____1. ILLUSTRATIONS: Importing and appropriate use of graphics
____2. LIVE LINKS TO REFERENCE URLs
____3. FONT VARIETY: At least 3 different font styles used.
____4. VARIETY OF APPROPRIATE FONT SIZES: at least 4 sizes
____5. VARIETY OF APPROPRIATE COLOURS: at least 4 different colours
____6. BOLDFACE and ITALICS: use in appropriate locations
____7. UNDERLINING and CENTERING: use for titles, emphasis, etc.
____8. SPELLCHECK & FIND: use until your page is free of spelling errors
____9. TAB INDENTS: use on appropriate paragraphs
____10. CONNECTING LINKS BETWEEN ALL OF YOUR PAGES
