Merry

Meriadoc Brandybuck or Merry, was one of the four hobbits in the Fellowship of the Ring. At the breaking of the fellowship Merry and Pippin were captured by orcs but escaped into the Fanghorn Forest where they convinced the Ents to attack Isengard. Merry later became a squire of the King Theoden of Rohan. He became a heroic figure when he helped Eowyn slay the Witch-king at the Battle of Pelennor Fields. This encounter nearly killed Merry, but he was healed by Aragorn. Upon returning to the Shire, he fought in the battle of Bywater. Merry later married Estella Bolger and succeeded his father as Master of Buckland.
