Peregin Took, a.k.a Pippin was a Hobbit in the Fellowship of the Ring. At the breaking of the fellowship Pippin and his friend Merry were captured by orcs but escaped into the Fanghorn Forest where they convinced the Ents to attack Isengard. Gandalf later took Pippin to Gondor where he was made a guard of the Citadel, and helped save the life of the Steward’s son, Faramir. In returning to the Shire, he fought in the battle of Bywater. In the 14th year of the Fourth Age, Pippin became the thirty-second Thain of the Shire and ruled until the year 64.
