The Cardassian Galor is the mainstay of the Cardassian fleet. Capable of a huge variety of missions yet cheap to build the Galor is the perfect vessel for the technologically less advanced and less resource plentiful Empire which is the Cardassian Union. Despite being the mainstay the Galor is not the strongest vessel in the Alpha Quadrant and during the Union's long war with the Federation the Galor showed itself to be outmatched by the Federation Ambassador Class. However the Cardassians are excellent tacticians and as a result Galors started to turn up in packs. It is now common to see, not one Cardassian Galor but several. For example when the Federation first took hold of Deep Space 9 the Cardassians attacked it. Now at that time a single Galor could of beaten DS9 but the Cardassians attacked it with three Galors. Surely a vessel to keep your eye on. During the Dominion War these vessels were refitted with more advanced Dominion technology. These refits should keep the Galor as the mainstay of the Cardassian fleet far into the 25th Century.
