The centaur is the Excelsior variant. Little is known about it as only one has ever been seen (the USS Centaur) As only one has ever been seen it is possible only one was ever created. In addition the Centaur actually has better specifications than the Excelsior Class. It is indeed possible that the USS Centaur has been refitted to a standard closer to the Excelsior Mark 2 refit.
