Built by the crew of USS Voyager to replace Type 2 shuttles which had all but been destroyed the Flyer is equipped ultra-aerodynamic contours, retractable nacelles, parametallic hull plating, a tetraburnium alloy hull, unimatrix shielding (created by Voyager tactical officer Lt. Cmdr Tuvok) and Borg inspired weapons systems (created by Astrometrics officer Seven of Nine). This is possibly the most powerful shuttle ever seen. It is possible that this shuttle will start a renaissance in shuttle design similar to the recent renaissance in ship design. The Delta Flyer has even beaten small starships.
