The Nebula Class is the Galaxy variant, it can be refitted with a variety of pods (the big thing on the back) for different missions. These include Cargo pods, Speed pods, combat pods, sensor pods and many more. The Nebula is normally equipped with a general pod however. (Note: It is my belief that the normal pod seen is a General Pod. First of all apart from the USS Phoenix no ship has had any other pod. Second of all, changing pods on a Nebula could be quite time consuming and it makes sense only to apply a pod if the Nebula really needs it.)
