Human History- Pre-Federation (Before 2161)

(Note: I assume you all know the history of Earth before the year 2001 well enough so I will not bore you with the details.)

Earth has had a long history of discrimination. In the 2020's discrimination against the  unemployed occurred. In every major city sanctuary districts were set up. These were districts to 'look after' the unemployed. Although originally set up in kindness for the unemployed they soon degenerated into prisons for them, much like the workhouses of England in the late 19th and early 20th Centuries. In 2024 the bell riots drew attention to this grave injustice against the unemployed and the Sanctuary districts were abolished. However this was the first chapter of an increasingly violent century. In the mid-21st Century human's started World War III, as data is fragmented from that time it is unknown how it started, how it ended or even who won. What is known is that nuclear weapons were used killing something between 37 and 600 million people. (Note: In 'Bread and circuses' the death toll is stated to be 37 million, in 'First Contact' the number is stated to be 600 million. So I guess it is somewhere between as records are described as fragmentary.) Although it is not known how it started it may have something to do with the rise of the neo-trotskyists in France during the 2020's. On 4 April 2063 Zephram Cochrane made the first flight in a Warp Capable Earth craft. Not included in historical records is the help of the crew of the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-E) from the year 2373. A passing Vulcan Survey Ship detected Cochrane's ship, the Phoenix, and made first contact. Although dragging Earth out of its ruthless stage of evolution the change from war to peace was gradual and Earth was not under a united government until 2113 at the latest and even then nations such as Australia did not join until 2150. Sometime in the 22nd Century genetic engineering created 'super-humans', unfortunately they captured large amounts of the planet and had wars between themselves. These wars devastated the planet until these genetic tyrants were overthrown. Later on the major genetic super tyrant, Khan Noonien Singh was found drifting in statis on the old DY-100 ship the SS Botany Bay. (Note: Yes I do know that the Eugenics Wars happened between 1992-1996 so if anyone e-mails me about it I'll break their necks. In 'Doctor Bashir, I presume' Admiral Bennett says that the Eugenics Wars happened "two hundred years ago" many have taken this as a continuity problem but I take it as what it is supposed to be: a 'correction', the year is 2001 and to my knowledge no genetic supermen have appeared- unless sheep count. Star Trek is aware of this and so put the date in the 22nd Century, comfortably in the future. OK? Got that? Good.) In 2156 war broke out between Earth and the Romulan Star Empire. Although the Star Empire's ships are extremely primitive, the vessels only use atomic weapons and the Romulan vessels aren't even warp capable the war continues until the year 2160 when the Romulan forces suffer a humiliating defeat at the Battle of Cheron. (Note: One wonders if this is supposed to be Charon the moon of Pluto, this would suggest that the Romulans got as far as the outer solar system)  In the year 2161 Earth became one of the founder planets of the Federation. And to this day humans are the major planet in the Federation with Earth as the site of Starfleet Academy, the Federation Presidents office, Starfleet Headquarters, the Federation Council and others.
