RULES FOR HOW MANY TIMES A WEEK YOU MUST POST

Characters ranked Lt. JG and below: (1) post per week minimum.
Characters ranked Lieutenant and above: (2) posts per week minimum.
Department Heads: No less than two (3) posts per week.

*Please note: These are minimums per week.
We would love to see more from each character per week.

*Please note: If these minimums are not met three times, then your character will be demoted to a lower rank.

In the case your character is in the lowest rank grouping already, you may be asked to quit the Simm. You may after one month's time re-apply.

If you fail once again we will have to ask you to quit the Simm again, this time a One year dismissal will be placed into effect.

If you re-apply after that year is up, and fail to meet the minimums you will be asked to leave permanently.

(WE DO NOT WISH FOR THIS TO HAPPEN!)

R-rated RULES for Language, Violence, Sex, and Drugs.

Warning!: The following rules contain curse words and other words you may not wish to read. These words are here only to state plainly those words, which we do not want to see in posts for this Simm (RPG).

1. No use of the "F" word is allowed, no matter what context, other than hell and dam, use curse words sparingly.

1a. No use of the words, pussy, penis, dick, cunt, twat, or prick.

2. No overly sexual posts, we don't mind nudity, or kissing, hugging, feeling up, or saying your going to get laid, have sex, make love. We just don't want intimate or graphic details.

3. No gore or dismemberment should appear in your posts.

Warning!: Graphic and gross example:
DON'T READ THIS IF YOU CAN'T STAND GORE, OR HAVE A SENSITIVE STOMACH. Highlight the block of text below to read the example:

Ex: "He stepped on his head and put all his weight down. The skin reddened where the bones of his skull began to crack. Finally, it buckled, and his brains oozed out of his ears in a red and grey mess."

END OF EXAMPLE PLEASE READ ON

4. Drugs are frowned upon but will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis, and if the player thinks it might be questionable, they should bring it up with the group moderator.

Below are the rules and suggestions for your PBem (Play by E-mail) posts.

1. All posting must be sent to: siddhartha-ic@yahoogroups.com or siddhartha-ooc@yahoogroups.com depending on your post being "In Character" (IC) or "Out of Character" (OOC).

2. The subject of e-mails for In-Character posts should be done like this:: What you wish to call the post, followed by your character's name and rank (if applicable). Ex: Going to the Bridge - Captain Alexander McAllister

3. If you wish to say something to members of the sim or discuss something about your character before you begin your post, place the following at the beginning of the mail:

<ON> to start the story right away, or OCC: to comment on "Out of Character" stuff.

4. Three formats will be accepted for the body of a post: novel format, script format, and hybrid format. Use whichever one you are most comfortable with. Novel format should be self-explanatory (like a novel). Script format is explained as follows. Hybrid format is a mix of the two. Again, these are only suggestions.

4A. Actions should be enclosed within "*"

* The Captain then retired to his Ready Room *

4B. Dialog should be in the following format: "Character name: Dialogue"

Then you can begin writing to your post for the current mission.

4C. To simulate the passage of time, do one of the following:
<After a few hours> or <Later that day> or <Several minutes later>

This is placed on a new line in the e-mail.

4D. If you wish to say where your character is when he is taking part in the mission (and you should), then the following is done:
<Bridge of the USS Siddhartha>

4D1. Speaking to a character in the same room. In order to distinguish between what your character says with what the rest of the crew post, the following must be done when your character wishes to say something. The characters name followed by a colon, and then what the character says.

Captain: "Status report please."

This line clearly shows what the Captain says in that sentence.

4D2. Speaking to a character using the comm system. [=/\=]

When your character wishes to contact someone over the comm system using the comm badge or ships internal communications system. Then the next part of the line is the spoken words, followed by the end of the comms signal [=/\=]

Ex: Chief Engineer Jetson: =/\= Aye Captain =/\=

4D3. Speaking to yourself (Thinking). [ ' ] When your character wishes to act as though he/she is pondering or thinking about something then the following is done. The characters name followed by a colon, then what the character is thinking between [ ' ] (single quotation mark).

Ex: Ensign Smith: 'This is strange'

E. End all e-mails containing stories with the following:

<OFF>

Then your characters signature in the form of

Rank Character Name
Position
USS Siddhartha NCC-45310

10. The following is a sample mail containing all the features discussed:

Subject line of E-mail: Commander - Tylor Reynolds

<ON>

Captain McAllister: "Smith prepare to take the ship into warp."

Ensign Smith: "Aye Captain."

*Tylor walked to Smith's console as the ensign laid in a course.*

Commander Tylor: =/\= Engineering are we running at 100% ? =/\=

Cheif Engineer Jetson: "Yes Sir 100%"

Commander Tylor: "Ensign Smith, engage"

Ensign Smith: "Aye sir, warp speed setting?"

Commander Tylor: "Warp 9"

Ensign Smith: "Aye sir"

*The Siddhartha nacelles flash a light blue as they engage. The Siddhartha flashes into subspace and the usual white light is seen as the ship disappears from normal view*

Commander Tylor: 'She's a fine ship' "Captain, awaiting your command"

<OFF>

Tag: Captain McAlliaster

Commander Tylor Reynolds
Executive Officer
USS Siddhartha NCC-45310

The above example post is a slightly modified version of the example from the USS Shadow.
