These are the positions we assumed for each (compact) cab ride for the entire trip: two guys in back with ladies on laps, one guy in front (that was usually Steve Monk, sometimes me, but never Jeff). Cozy, no?

The Peru-Bolivia border. Even on this middle-of-the-road benchmark, there is evidence that the road conditions in Peru are far better than those in Bolivia--compare the Peruvian median stripe to the Bolivian one!.
