Born
on within the ever changing and unsettled nature of the O'Ryan Construction
Platform, Mackenzie exhibited the energy to explore from an early age.
Her parents were good friends with Caitlyn Barrett's parents before Mackenzie
was born.
As it became more apparent
their daughter was destined for Starfleet, Hunter and Jen decided they
would give her every shot to achieve that dream. Before attending
Starfleet Academy, Mackenzie attended the Saturn Flight Academy.
When the time was right she had
no trouble being accepted into Starfleet Academy, though her greatest trials still loomed
ahead. Caitlyn and Mackenzie didn't meet until their first year at
the Academy. They became good friends and were both very dedicated
to becoming officers.
It was during Mackenzie's
first year that her parents were killed in a shuttle crash. The crash occurred
during a highly classified mission both were involved in. Losing her parents
caused Mac to really evaluate her career choice and strengthened her reasons for wanting
to join Starfleet. Extracurricular activities during her
Academy years included
commanding a squadron of the Academy flight team as well as various sports.
During her career Mackenzie
Damian has had several classified or high security assignments. She
has proven herself in a variety of assignments, including a stint as a
Flight Instructor at Starfleet Academy. That was challenging and enjoyable for a time
but she became tired of that and applied for a transfer to a front line
vessel once again.
Her acceptance of a posting
on the Magellan is another significant step in Mackenzie's path to Command.
