Since the Mi-Ki was created in recent years, the consistency of breed type is not yet established, as in other breeds such as the Maltese, Japanese Chin, and Papillon. The Mi-Ki breed as a whole is on its way to being standardized. A lot of Mi-Ki breeders are seeing more type consistency in their bloodlines. The Mi-Ki breeders today work hard to come as close as possible to meeting the Mi-Ki breed standard. The ARBMR breeders work together to ensure a solid foundation for the Mi-Kis future. We do this by a strict, honest, open, educational, responsible, and a structured breeding program. The ARBMR breeders as well as our members, are working together to ensure breed standard type, health, and consistency in the Mi-Ki breed.
The muzzle should be no longer than 1/4 of the length of the head. When measuring (use a soft measuring tape) the muzzle, you want to measure from the base of the skull to the stop. The soft measuring tape ensures that you will get accurate measurements of the head and muzzle. Make sure that the measuring tape is pulled firmly across the top of the muzzle and head. Otherwise, you may measure incorrectly. |
