[Scene One: Monica & Chandler`s apartment.]

(Monica comes out of her bathroom, not looking so good. She finishes cooking dinner, then places the food on the table. As she looks at her watch, we see the time go by until it`s an hour later. She looks mad. Then another hour goes by. She puts the food away, and plops herself down on the couch and starts watching TV. Chandler casually walks into the apartment, looking kind of tired.)

Chandler: Hey, sorry I`m late, I got tied up at work.

Monica: (disgruntled & bitter) Your dinner is in the fridge.

Chandler: Okay...(he goes and gets it out, and starts eating it cold. After a minute of watching Monica not talking, and shaking her leg) What`s up Mon?

Monica: I`ve been waiting 2 hours for you, and you come in here, and all I get is "Oh I was tied up at work"!!

Chandler: Wow, Monica calm down, There was a problem with the WENUS, I`m sorry.

Monica: Problem with the WENUS huh? Is that it?

Chandler: You`ve always understood when I came home late before.

Monica: Maybe I`m sick of understanding, maybe I want you to be home sometimes, maybe I need you home sometimes, okay? Look, I don`t want to talk about it, I`m going to bed.

Chandler: Monica, what`s wrong?

Monica: Nothing`s wrong with me, OKAY!!! Nothing! Now I`m going to bed.

Chandler: Wait...

Monica: Just leave me alone. Night! (goes into the bedroom)



[Scene Two: Joey is getting his mail. A good-looking woman next to him is also getting her mail]

(Joey goes through his mail, then looks up and sees the woman)

Joey: (He checks her out) How you doin`?

Woman: (giggles)

Joey: Hi, I`m Joey.

Woman: I`m Lisa.

Joey: So what are you doing tonight?

Lisa: I`m thinking about pizza.

Joey: (Happily) How about you & me eat some tonight?

Lisa: (sarcastic) Depends which restaurant..(beat) I`m kidding.

Joey: Oh... I knew that- (laughs)

Lisa: So, tonight at...

Joey: I`ll pick you up at 8.

Lisa: Awww, but you don`t have to do that, I can walk.

Joey: (laughs) yea... umm, where do you live by the way?

Lisa: Apartment number 23.

Joey: (smiles) Yea, so I`ll see you then.

Lisa: Okay, bye

Joey: bye


[Scene Three: Central Perk, Chandler, Monica, and Rachel are there]

(Ross enters)

All: Hey Ross!

Ross: Hey guys. Chandler guess who just called me?

Chandler: The barber telling you you didn`t get your money`s worth?

Ross: (glares at Chandler) Noo, One of our old friends from college, you remember Ashley right?

Chandler: Ashley??

Ross: Fat Ash

Chandler: (laughs) Oh yea I remember her. (Monica looks at him and he stops laughing)

Chandler:(He looks at her then changes the subject) So, what has she been up to?

Ross: She`s coming to the city for a few days and wanted to know if we could get together for old time`s sake.

Chandler: Oh, I don`t know.. I tend to want to forget college.

Ross: Oh come on, it`d be fun. Plus, you won`t have to worry about all those other guys now,(Chandler`s eyes get wide) and I kinda already told her "yes".

Chandler: (sarcastically) oh well in that case, sure..

Ross: Great (Chandler is surprised that he didn`t notice his sarcasm) We`ll meet her at Riff`s at 8 tonight. Alright, I gotta run, see you tonight.

(Ross exits quickly not giving Chandler enough time to reject him)

Chandler: Wait........ugh

Monica: So who is this girl anyway?

Chandler: Oh you know, just some girl I knew in college, why?

Monica: No reason, I just thought we could spend some time together

Chandler: No, You`re jealous aren`t you?

Monica: No, why would I be jealous about some girl that you knew in college and just decide to go to dinner with her without asking me. (Rachel feels a little uncomfortable)

Chandler: I didn`t even get a chance to say yes!

Monica: Forget it, go it doesn`t matter.

Chandler: What is wrong with you lately anyway?

(Rachel bursts out laughing)

(Chandler & Monica look at her)

Chandler: What`s so funny?

Rachel: Oh, see that guy over there?(points to some guy)

Monica:(looks over) yea

Rachel: Yea I don`t know why I was laughing, maybe too much coffee.

Monica: That`s your first cup.

Rachel: Yea, well I had one earlier.

Monica: Hey Rache, since Chandler is going with Ashley, you want to go bowling tonight?

Rachel: Bowling???

Monica: Yea, you know hitting pins with a large heavy ball.

Rachel: Yea, sure I haven`t done that since I was a kid. Hey I`ll ask Phoebe if she wants to come! Just the girls!

Monica: Sounds great!



[Scene Three: Phoebe, Monica, Rachel are at a bowling alley counter, paying for their games]

Monica: 3 for 2 games

Man at the counter: That`s $12.50. (they all hand him some money) Okay I need your shoe sizes.

Rachel: 5.

Monica: You`re not a 5!

Rachel: (glares at Monica) Ugh, 6½.

Phoebe: 8½.

Monica: 7.

(The guy puts the shoes on the counter)

Rachel: Umm You want us to wear those?

Guy #1: Yea, You have to.

Rachel: But, they`re all dirty & ugly and ..

Phoebe: Rache it`s not that bad

Rachel: Not that bad? Look at Monica (she is kneeling on the floor scrubbing the shoes thoroughly)

Phoebe: Well that`s Monica..

Monica: (gets up) okay let`s go pick out some balls!

(Rachel looks at her)

Monica: BOWLING balls

Rachel: oh, right.



[Scene Four: Chandler & Ross are at Riff`s awaiting Ashley`s arrival]

Ursula: (gives them some plates of food) Here you go.

Chandler: (looks at the food, looks at her) We haven`t ordered yet.

Ursula: Yea okay..(she picks up the food & walks away)

(Chandler looks at Ross then at his watch)

Chandler: She`s not coming let`s go.

Ross: It`s early yet, just wait.

(A beautiful woman <Sandra Bullock> enters, and walks up to their table. Chandler`s mouth drops open)

Ashley: Hey Ross, hey Chandler!

Ross: Hi

Chandler: (nervous & tongue tied) hh ..h h. e llll o. uhhhh You have changed a lot since college.

Ashley: Yea, I decided I needed a new look

(Chandler mouths an "Oh my God" to Ross)


[Scene Five: Rachel, Monica, and Phoebe are picking out bowling balls. Monica is taking forever]

(Monica examines her bowling ball closely)

Rachel: Could you just pick out a ball!

Monica: You just want to win!

Rachel: No, I just want to play! (mumbles) While I`m still young enough to.

Phoebe: (she picks up a bright bright yellow bowling ball) ohh look at this one you guys!

Rachel:(shields her eyes) My eyes! Phoebe that is really bright!

Monica: (puts down her bowling ball and looks at Phoebe`s and covers her eyes) Oww My eyes!

Phoebe: This is the neatest bowling ball ever!

(Monica continues looking for a bowling ball and testing them out)

Rachel: More like the brightest! Mon, how about we meet you over there at the alley okay?

Monica: (still occupied looking for the perfect ball) uh huh (not looking at her)

(Rachel & Phoebe go over to the alley and Monica is testing out one of the balls. A guy comes up to her)

Guy #1: Hey there, I see you are looking for a good bowling ball.

Monica: Yea, the most important thing in bowling is to get the right ball.

Guy #1: Exactly!

Monica: Wow you mean you don`t find this compulsive?

Guy #1: Not at all! I understand completely.

Monica: This is incredible! I found someone just like me. (smiles)

Guy #1: (smile) Yea, hey by the way I didn`t catch your name.

Monica: Oh sorry I`m Monica.

Jonathan: (he shakes her hand) I`m Jonathan. So you`re bowling alone or with someone?

Monica: My friends are over there waiting.

Jonathan: Do you want to make teams? I have 2 other guys over there who wouldn`t mind some good competition.

Monica: Sounds great! So I`ll meet you over there in a few minutes.

Jonathan: Sure, we`ll be right over.

(Monica finally walks over to Rachel & Phoebe)

Rachel: What took you soo long?

Monica: I found us some competition!

Rachel: (unenthusiastic) Ohh, that`s great.

Phoebe: (looking at guy coming towards them) He`s yummy.

(Rachel looks at them)

Rachel: Yea they are!

Monica: You like the competition a little better now huh?

Rachel: shh they`re coming! (smile) Hey guys!

Guy #2: (Looks at Rachel charmingly and smiles) Hey there

Guy #3: (Looks at Phoebe and smiles) Hi

Phoebe: (sexily) Hey there

Jonathan: Oh so this is (Points to guy #2) Chris and this is (points to guy #3) Dave

Monica: and this is (pointing to her friends) Rachel & Phoebe

Dave: Well now that all the introductions are done, why don`t you (points to Phoebe) come over here.

Phoebe: (Giggles) Okay

Jonathan: Whoa there Dave. Why don`t we pick out teams first.

Dave: I`ll take Phoebe

Jonathan: One second there, shouldn`t we let the ladies pick first.

Monica: (eagerly) ohh I got Jonathan!

(Jonathan jumps back from her over enthusiasm)

(Rachel looks at her)

Monica: Sorry Rache, but Jonathan is just so much more strategic

(Phoebe whispers in Dave`s ear)

Dave: Chris

(Rachel realizes she`s the last one)

Rachel: Looks like you're STUCK with me now Mon!

Monica: Come over here Rache, it`d be fun you & I! Oh OH can I go first?

Rachel: Yes..

(They all sit down in their teams)

(The camera shows Phoebe & Dave)

Dave: Wow cool bowling ball!

Phoebe: Thanks! I really like!

Dave: (He brushes her hair from her face) It kinda looks like the sun.

Phoebe: (thinks) Yea, it does!

Chris: I hate to interrupt the sun talk but can we get started here?

(Now we go back to Monica, Rachel, and Jonathan)

(Monica is practicing her arm "swing". She moves her arm back & forth doing a little dance. Rachel is sitting with her arms crossed obviously bored and Jonathan is at the score board)

Rachel: Who taught you how to swing dance?

(Monica ignores the comment)

Jonathan: Okay, all set. Everyone ready?

(Dave & Phoebe are too busy flirting but the others reply)

Others: Yea

Rachel: (unenthusiastically) yea

Jonathan: (He looks at the board) Okay, Rachel you`re up.

Rachel: Oh okay (she gets up goes to the edge of the alley, squats down and pushes the ball through her legs. It of course goes in the gutter. She gets the ball again and does the same thing, it`s in the gutter again)

Monica: (patting Rachel on the back) It`s okay Rache.

(A half hour later, the game is tied. Rachel is bored out of her mind begging Monica to go home, Monica & Jonathan are rioting together to the finish)

Jonathan: Okay Mon, You`re up, go for it baby. If you get this shot we win!

Monica: (Giggles) OKAY (She does her same formation as we saw earlier, She misses one pin and then we see her shoot again but in slow motion with Jonathan cheering and Chris going oh nooo as the ball hits the last pin, Monica hugs Jonathan and they jump up & down with Victory) WE WON WE WON!! (she has a sudden moment of pain Jonathan looks worried then she perks back up) I`m okay. We won!

Chris: (disappointed) Okay, well see you guys later. Good game.

Phoebe & Dave: We`re going to run too.

Monica: Bye

Rachel: See ya

Jonathan: Okay Well I guess I`ll go too (Rachel sighs with relief)

Monica: You sure you don`t want to stick around and talk a bit?

Jonathan: (not even thinking twice) Yea that`d be great!



[Scene Six: an hour later at Riff`s Ross is just sitting there while Chandler & Ashley are talking away]

Chandler: So you Model now?

Ashley: Yea it`s fun and pays well.

Chandler: Wow, I can`t even imagine having a fun job...

Ross: Hey man we should probably go now, it`s getting late.

Chandler: In a bit.

Ross: The same bit you said 30 minutes ago?

Chandler: What`s the big deal? I just want to catch up here with Ash.

Ross: Well I gotta go.

Chandler: Okay bye.



[Scene Seven: Later on in the bowling alley, Rachel is falling asleep and Monica & Jonathan are still talking]

Monica: So I`m a chef.

Jonathan: Really? I bet you`re a great one!

Monica: Yea I am!

Jonathan: ahh well, I teach deaf kids to read.

Monica: Wow that is so great!

Rachel: Monica shouldn`t we go now, it`s getting late.

Monica: In a minute.

Rachel: You said that 10 minutes ago! Okay That`s it. I`m leaving!

Monica: Alright, seeya.

(Rachel is surprised with Monica`s acquiescence, and she leaves)





[Scene Eight: Rachel is just walking out and she bumps into Ross who is also walking home]

Ross: Hey Rache, what are you doing walking home alone this late?

Rachel: Monica blew me off to talk to some guy.

Ross: Really! That`s so weird because Chandler blew me off to talk to Ashley.

Rachel: Hmm, What is going on with those two?

Ross: I have no idea!

Rachel: They`ve been acting so weird.

Ross: Yea I know, especially Monica, have you noticed she`s been really cranky at times lately?

Rachel: Yea! You`re right!

(They both sit there and think)

Ross: How about we get some ice cream at the shop down the street?

Rachel: Sounds great! I can REALLLY go for some ice cream right about now.



[Scene Nine: Chandler is still at Riffs, with Ashley]

Chandler: (laughing) Well, this has been great, but it`s (looks at his watch) 12 and (he looks to the side and sees a man staring at them holding a wooden stick and pounding it against his hand) it looks like the owner is about to kick us out.

Ashley: (moves closer to him but he backs away) Okay, do you want to go for a walk?

Chandler: (thinks) No, I can`t. I I . I Have to go home.

Ashley: Okay, goodnight

Chandler: (quietly) Goodnight. (he walks out)



[Scene Ten : Joey & Lisa are outside Joey`s apartment]

Joey: So umm, I had a really good time tonight. (he smiles)

Lisa: (she smiles)Yea, me too.

(Joey kisses her)

Joey: So uhh you want to come inside?

Lisa: No thanks..

Joey: You sure? You don`t want something to uhh drink or something?

Lisa: No, I`d rather not. Look I had a great time tonight.

Joey: Yea me too

Lisa: So I should go.

Joey: yea, how you doin?

(Lisa smiles)

Joey: (in a sexy voice) Are you sure you don`t want to come inside?

Lisa: Yea, I`m sure. Look I`m sorry, but I have to tell you this before this goes any further. (shakingly nervous, Joey is extremely curious) I don`t want to do anything, well.. have sex, till I`m with someone I`m ready to make a full commitment with. If that is too weird for you then, we should end this.

Joey: (shocked) Why Why.. wouldn`t you want to have sex?

Lisa: Because I don`t want to get pregnant, or the emotional toll.

Joey: Well I do have condoms.

Lisa: Sorry I just can`t take the chance.

Joey: Okay so I`ll call you then. (disappointed)

Lisa: Okay

Joey: Good night.

(when she turns around Joey shakes his head in disbelief)

Lisa: goodnight

(Chandler comes walking by and sees the beautiful woman walking away)

Chandler: Hey, is that your date?

Joey: Yea..

Chandler: She`s leaving a little early, are you loosing your touch man?

Joey: No, I don`t know! I mean that`s never happened to me before, she totally rejected me!

Chandler: It`s not so bad, I mean you don`t always have to on the first date. Hell I didn`t.

Joey: Well I know you didn`t. Hey you`re rubbing off on me!

Chandler: What? I am not even living with you anymore.

Joey: You cursed me!

Chandler: (sigh) Joey! Look it`s not my fault that you`re losing your touch.

Joey: I`m NOT loosing my touch, I just had a bad night.

Chandler: Sorry to hear that man, I had a great night!

Joey: With Fat Ash?

Chandler: She changed a lot since college okay!

Joey: Okay

Chandler: Alright I better go before Monica freaks!

Joey: Night man!

Chandler: Night

(Chandler walks in slowly closing the door and he goes in the room quietly, and finds that Monica is still not back)


[Scene Eleven : Monica is outside the apartment with her new friend Jonathan.]

Monica: This was fun we should hang out again sometime.

Jonathan: Yea, so did I, you are a great bowler!

Monica: I know! (smiles)

(As Jonathan moves closer to her, Chandler has heard a noise from inside the apartment, so he gets up from the couch to walk over to the door, and put his ear against it, while in the hall...)

Jonathan: Thanks for tonight, I haven`t felt this good in a while.

(Chandler`s eyes grow wide from shock)

Monica: Yea, well I have to get to bed. (she slowly starts to turn the door handle)

(Indoors, Chandler creeps slowly but carefully back to the couch, except he trips on something in the dark, a sock gets hooked on his foot, and he starts jumping around frantically trying to get it unstuck. He finally does, and lays on the couch pretending to be asleep as he waits. Meanwhile, Jonathan moves in very close to Monica. He leans out to kiss her. The world spins. But then Monica comes to her senses, and she pulls away)

Monica: I can`t, I really have to go.

Jonathan: Are you sure?

Monica: Yes, I can`t do this, bye

(she walks in and sees Chandler on the couch. She carefully walks by trying not to wake him. After she leaves Chandler sits up in shock. He is very upset)


[Scene Twelve: Everyone is at C&M`s except Chandler & Joey, Monica is cooking]

Phoebe: So Mon, how`d it go with that guy last night?

Monica: Can you pass me the garlic powder?

Ross: What guy?

Rachel: This guy she met at the bowling alley and talked to all night..

Ross: What! What about Chandler?

Rachel: Mon?

Monica: (There is a knock on the door.) Oh Door!

( She opens the door to find a 15 year old girl there drenched from the rain with a knapsack. Monica looks at her and waits for her to talk, she then says)

Monica: Hi,(Looks at the girl) who are you?

Girl: Hi

Monica: Who are you?

Girl: (nervously)(takes out a little curmpled up piece of paper) umm is Joey (trying to read it) Tribiani here?

Monica: No, not right now. He`s across the hall, why what`s the matter?..

Girl: (scared, she slowly says) I`m his daughter.

(Monica drops the spoon she was holding, Phoebe was in the fridge and is still standing there with it open, Rachel's mouth drops open, Ross just stares for awhile without blinking)
