Alluring Stranger-Part 1
Gia stared absently out the window, looking at the waves crashing against the shore. What kind of man would kidnap her, and put her in a beautiful tropical paradise? As beautiful as this place was, it was the last place on earth she wanted to be. She didn't know where she was, or who had taken her. All she knew is that she would rather be home, in Port Charles with her boyfriend. Oh her boyfriend.....they had gone through so much to be together....family, friends, school, work, everything imaginable. But now, when they finally made it, and could be together, something else had separated them. Her mind flashed back to the last time she saw him, 2 days ago. They were having a romantic dinner in the cottage. He had left the room to get more champagne, when the next thing she knew, a guy burst through the door, gagged her, and soon she was out cold. She had woken up here, on this beautiful deserted island. She had been isolated in a large suite, with a bed, bathroom, television, and radio. No phone. Whoever had taken her had wanted her to be comfortable, but have no contact with the outside world. Her fingers fumbled over the buttons of the remote, when she finally found the station she had been looking for. She settled onto the lush covers of the bed and began to watch what was going on in the real world. The Nurses Ball was on the news. They had televised it this year. Gia went every year with her boyfriend. They had fun dancing, and doing their best to avoid his lunatic grandmother, and conspiring uncle. Her mind trailed off to relive all of the happy memories she had with him. Snapping her out of her thoughts was a rapping on the door. Before answering the door, Gia pinched herself.
"Damn," she said, "It's not a dream."
She lifted herself off the bed and flung the door open.
"You know," Gia began, "You ARE the one who kidnapped me, I don't think you have to knock."
"How do you know I kidnapped you?" The man asked.
This was the first time Gia had seen her kidnapper, but she knew immediately that it was him. She could sense it. His rugged handsomeness couldn't go unnoticed. He had dark hair and eyes, just like her boyfriend.
"I didn't know," she said, "But you are, aren't you?"
"Yes" the man replied, "I thought it was appropriate to knock. In case you weren't dressed or something."
"You barge in on my evening with my boyfriend, gag me and take me away to some island, but you knock to see if I'm dressed. Makes perfect sense" Gia said sarcastically, nodding her head.
The man waltzed into her room and swung open the curtains, allowing a fountain of light to pour through the window, brightening the room.
"So" Gia said, "You know my name, what's yours?"
The man looked deep in her eyes, and the depth and color of his deep brown orbs made her knees go weak.
"My name" her kidnapper said, "Is Nikolas Cassadine."

"Cassadine, huh?" Gia asked.
"Yeah." Nik replied.
"I"ve heard of you," Gia told him. "Didn't you used to live in Port Charles?"
"Yes I did" Nik replied.
"Why did you leave?" Gia asked bluntly.
Nik was taken aback by her bluntness. Being girlfriend to one of the most powerful men in the world, you would think she would be more proper than that.
"Well," Nik said, "Not that it's any of your business, but after my mother died, I had no family left in PC, so I left."
"Nikolas" Gia asked, "Why am I here?"
"That's for me to know, and you to find out." Nik told her, his face drained of all emotion.
"Fine" Gia pouted, "Can I at least go outside?"
Nikolas looked at her for a few seconds before speaking.
"I suppose I can take you out for a little while, let you see where you'll be staying until I get what I want."
Gia stared at him with complete disgust. How could he take an innocent girl and kidnap her. Take her away from everything and everyone she loves? Gia didn't know Nikolas at all, but she knew enough to know not to mess with him. She opted to just do what he said. Her boyfriend would save her soon enough.
Minutes later, the two were walking along the warm sand, as Nikolas spoke.
"You will only be allowed out of your room to eat. And the only time you are ever out is when I'm with you." Nik ordered. "Understand?"
"Yeah" Gia replied.
"Good"
Gia chose a spot on the sand, sat down and gazed out at the water. All she could see was glistening, clear water. No land anywhere, other than where she was sitting. Well she definitely couldn't take off. Nikolas wouldn't leave her alone for a second by herself, if she wasn't locked in her room. Even is she did manage to get away from him, she wouldn't know where to go, all she could see was water.
"You look like you're concentrating," Nik said. When he spoke her neck snapped around, and she saw that he was staring at her. "What are you thinking about?"
There was no way Gia was going to tell him that she was thinking about how to escape.
"I was thinking about......."Gia stuttered ".....my boyfriend."
"Oh," Nik said, his face suddenly darkening "Well, as long as we're on the topic......he's the reason you're here, Gia."
"You know him?" Gia asked in shock.
"Do I know him?" Nik cried laughing, "Oh, I know Sonny Corinthos all too well."

"What do you want from Sonny?" Gia asked, "From the look of this island, I can tell you don't need money, so whatever it is, I promise he'll give it to you."
Nik chuckled, "You don't know about Enesco, do you?"
"Enesco?" Gia asked, not having heard Sonny talk about it before. "No, what is it?"
"Okay, Gia," Nik began, "You are about to learn my business. I own tons of land, all over the world, but not as much as Sonny. Not enough to gain power over him. I need one more area of land before I will have the power to buy him out and turn him flat broke. The area of land I need is called Enesco. It was given to Sonny by his mother, whom I assume you know died when he was 23. She made him promise to keep that land, and never, ever sell it. It held special importance to her. It was the island that she gave birth to him on. When his father died, it was the only thing she had left to remind her of him. Sonny has kept his promise, but now I need it. And I figure the only way to get it, is to take something dear to him, and make him crack." Nik's lips curled up in a crooked grin.
Gia stared at him, in complete awe. "You unimaginable bastard." she yelled, glaring at him, "How can you take pride in other people's pain?! You don't have a drop of compassion in your blood. You're--You're frozen, you're not even human!!"
Nikolas simply stared at her, not tearing his eyes away, until he could see her flinch under his cold stare. "You better watch how you speak to your kidnapper." he threatened, "I have the power here, Gia. And don't you DARE think that I won't kill you in a second if I feel the need."
Gia's hands shook uncontrollably, and she felt the back of her eyes sting, as tears welled up, threatening to flow. Despite the pressing need Gia had to just collapse and cry her eyes out, then and there, she held herself together. Instead of telling him off again, Gia decided it would be safest for her to just go back to her room. She stood and brushed the coarse grains of sand from the back of her legs. She turned to face Nik, and he could feel her breath against his cheek.
"I don't like you." Gia stated before turning on her heel, and storming back towards the house and into her room. Minutes after he saw her walk away from him and through the door of the house, he looked out at the ocean and whispered, "I didn't expect you to."

Alluring Stranger-Part 4
Gia awoke the next morning to a loud rapping on the door. She rolled over and as her eyes focused from sleeping she saw that it was 5:04 am. She groaned as she flopped back onto her bed. Covering her head with her plump, soft pillow, she prayed that whoever it was would go away.
"Gia!" Nikolas bellowed from the other side of the door. "Gia, wake up, open the door!"
Gia dragged herself out of bed and swung open the door to reveal a fully-dressed, and showered Nikolas. '5:00 am and he's already dressed and showered' Gia thought 'There is something seriously wrong with this man.
"God!" she screamed, "Why do you have to be so proper. You *are* the one that kidnapped me. Couldn't you have just opened the door and said whatever it was that you had to say. And why the hell are you up so damn early!?"
Nikolas shrugged as he strolled into her room. "I just thought you might want to be here when I call your boyfriend and let him know that I have you...and what it'll take to get you back."
Gia's face turned stone cold as she pushed past him and opened the curtains, revealing the orange glow of the sunrise. Gia's view of the sun was broken into morsels due to the wrought iron bars that had been placed over her window to ensure that she couldn't escape.
"So, do you want to hear the phone call or not?" Nik questioned, watching the back of her head as she gazed out the window.
"Of course I do." Gia said, turning around only after she had wiped her tears from her cheeks. She couldn't let him see her cry. It would let him know what her weak points were, and he could easily use that against her.
"Okay" Nik replied, gently pushing her in front of him. "Let's go."
He shut the door behind him as he led Gia through a long corridor.
~*Sonny's Cottage*~
"We have to find her dammit!" Sonny roared, slamming a fist down on the wooden table in front of him, and starling the three men standing around him.
Standing around the table, which now had a large crack down the middle, were Jason, Lucky and Zander.
"Sonny, we'll find her." Jason reassured him.
"We have to Jason." Sonny said quietly, "We have to."
Just when Sonny was about to break down into tears, the phone rang.
~*Nikolas' Island*~
"Sonny Corinthos." Nik said into the receiver, "I believe I have something that belongs to you." Nik glanced behind him and saw Gia sitting on a chair, giving him a cold glare. Gia flew up from the chair and tried to grab the phone from Nik, but she was ceased by a pair of strong firm arms, which took hold of hers and slammed her back onto the hard metal chair.
"Dammit, Cassadine let her go!" Sonny demanded. He lowered his voice and said, "This is between me and you. Gia has nothing to do with it, leave her alone."
"Oh Sonny" Nik said, chuckling as he took a seat next to Gia. "You are wrong. This has everything to do with Gia."
"What are you talking about, Nikolas?" Sonny questioned him.
"You see," Nik began, "You give me Enesco, I give you Gia. You don't give me Enesco, You lose her...forever."
Gia's screams were muffled by a hand sliding over her mouth. She could tell from the scent of the hand that it was the same man that had kept her in the chair earlier.
"Listen to me Cassadine, we can work something out." Sonny pleaded. "I'm sure we can find something else that you need."
"No way Corinthos. It's Enesco, or Gia." Nik said a wicked grin forming across his face. "What's your pick?"
Nik could hear Sonny curse quietly, and he also heard something being thrown, and hitting a wall.
"No Nikolas. No" Sonny refused. "There has to be something else. I will not give you Enesco. I'll find something else."
"Well then," Nik replied, his grin turning into anger. "Tell that to your girlfriend." He handed Gia the phone and she snatched it out of his hand, giving him a cold stare.
"Sonny?" Gia asked.
"Yes baby, it's me." Sonny replied.
"Are you coming to get me now?" Gia asked.
"Gia....baby..." Sonny stuttered. "It's going to take a bit longer than we thought to get you, but don't worry we will."
"Sonny...." Gia said, bewildered that he wouldn't just give Nik that one piece of land. "Sonny, please...." she begged.
"Don't worry angel, I'll come and get you, it's just going to take some time..."Sonny explained.
Gia handed the Nik the phone, and without saying a word, ran from the room.
"Way to go Corinthos." Nik said, "Keep in touch. When you come to your senses and are ready to give me that land, you can have your pretty little girlfriend back." With that, Nik placed the phone back on it's base and walked through the door, towards Gia's room.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gia ran through the corridor to her room, hot tears stinging her eyes. This hallway didn't seem as long when they were walking to the room. When she finally reached the large oak door she recognized as the door to her room, she flung it open and threw herself onto the bed. She layed there for an hour, crying out all of her pain. When she lifted her face from her pillow, she saw that there were tears soaking through the fabric of the pillowcase. She dismissed it, and layed her head back on the pillow, just thinking, her tears having run dry.

Nikolas sat outside Gia's room. He had been sitting there for an hour, listening to her cry. He had came here, intending on talking to her, probably hurting her with the fact that her boyfriend wouldn't give him a piece of land for her freedom. But he hadn't had the heart to go in. He had instead sat on the floor outside her room, leaning on the door, listening to her cry. When he heard her sobs cease, he slowly stood up and turned the door handle.
"Go away, Nikolas." Gia insisted.
"Are you alright Gia?" Nik asked.
'Whoa,' Gia thought, 'He sounds concerned. Maybe he is. No, he kidnapped me, he doesn't care.'
"As if you care." Gia said, not once turning look at him.
"I just want to make sure you're okay Gia." Nik said, taking a step towards her.
"Why does it matter?" Gia asked, her voice cracking as she spoke. "Sonny's not going to give you the land, you're just going to kill me."
Nik was shocked. She actually thought he was going to kill her. He wasn't heartless. He wouldn't kill her. He just wanted to scare her, and Sonny. Nik took several more steps towards her until he was directly behind her shaking body. He placed a hand on her shoulder and felt her flinch. That movement scared him, and caused him to remove his hand. He had many enemies. Enemies that were afraid of him, but with Gia, it was different. She was just as cocky, if not more cocky than his enemies. She was just as hateful towards him, and he had spoken hatefully towards her in return. Just as he did to all his other enemies. But this was different. She wasn't his enemy. Sonny was. Gia was innocent, she had just been dragged into this because of her commitment to Sonny. The thought of Gia being scared of him, scared himself. He felt the need to shield her, and let her know that he wasn't going to hurt her.
"Gia," Nik began, "I'm not going to kill you."
Gia's head turned and she looked him in the eyes. She saw kindness, compassion. These were things she had missed when she had made her first analysis of him. "You're not?" she asked, her eyes never breaking the lock with his.
"No." Nik replied, shaking his head, "Me intention was never to kill you. I just wanted to scare Sonny into giving me Enesco, but I was never going to kill you."
"Then why am I here?" she asked. "If Sonny isn't going to give you Enesco, and you're not going to kill me. You have no use for me. Enesco is all you want, so what are you going to do, just keep me here until he gives in?"
"Something like that." Nik answered, inching himself closer to her.
He could smell her perfume, the scent intoxicated every inch of him, sending him off to a far-away place. A braid fell from behind her ear and hit his cheek. Her hair was so soft, and smelled of her shampoo. That scent, mixed with her perfume, sent him spiraling into sheer heaven. His lips only centimeters from hers, ached to kiss her. He moved his mouth closer and he felt her breath against his nose. His heart was pounding so hard he was scared she could see it. Just as his lips gently touched hers, she jumped from the windowsill, and slithered out from under him.
"Whoa," she said, smoothing her hair back behind her ears. "This..." she said, pointing towards herself, than him, than her again. "This can't happen...no."
Nik stood from his position on the window, and walked over to her. He looked her in the eyes and said, "Dinner is at 7:00." He left the room and slammed the door behind him.
"God Gia," she said aloud, "What is wrong with you?"
She paced back and forth in her room, before flopping onto her bed and sitting on her hands to stop the uncontrollable shaking that was pulsating through her entire body.
"You love Sonny. He loves you. He would do anything for you."
Gia suddenly remembered what had happened only hours before.
"Or would he?" she asked herself.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nik sat on his bed, replaying the event that had just occurred between him and Gia.
"God, why did I do that?" he asked himself, as he smacked his forehead. "That was stupid, stupid, stupid!"
He suddenly remembered what had happened between him and Elizabeth. Elizabeth Webber. He had poured his heart out to her, and she destroyed it. They had been going great, so he thought, when he found out that she was cheating on him. Later that day, she broke up with him for Lucky Spencer. His brother!!! He had vowed never to love again.
"And now look at me!" he yelled. "I just made a move on the girl I kidnapped!"
He stood up and looked at himself in the mirror.
"Rejection hurts." He told himself. "Maybe I should kill her...."
He contemplated the idea for a minute, than shook it from his head.
"No, I can't kill her." Nik decided. "But I can't fall for her. She's happy with Sonny."
Nik recalled what had happened merely hours ago with Sonny and Enesco.
"Or is she....."
