Alluring Stranger-Part 16
Sonny had given her a choice. He had given her a choice in who she wanted to be with, but Gia couldn't choose. Sonny had seen that the choice had been hard on her, so he had taken her aside to speak for a while. He had made a comment about how he knew he would never have to give up Enesco, and he would get her back some other way. That sent Gia over the top. She knew that land was important to him, but it was only a piece of land. In her opinion it was Sonny's fault she was in this situation. If he had just given up that chunk of grass in the first place, she wouldn't have been forced to spend time with Nik. She wouldn't have fallen in love with him. And she most definitely wouldn't be having to choose between them. Sonny had allowed Nik 10 minutes alone with Gia, to speak with her the same way Sonny had time to speak with her. Deep inside Gia knew that Sonny was materialistic. He would've given Gia's life to save his land, and Gia couldn't hide her hurt.
"Are you okay?" Nik asked after everyone had left the room to give them their 10 minutes alone.
I never thought that I would lose my mind, That I could control this, Never thought that I'd be left behind, that I was stronger than you.
"What? Yes, I'm fine Nik, really." Gia replied, but Nik could see the tears brimming her eyes.
If only I knew what I could do, You know so why don't you tell me, And I, I would bring down the moon and the sun, To show how much care.
"Nikolas, there's really no point in having this conversation." Gia said, straining to keep her voice from cracking. "I love, Sonny. He loves me. He's here for me. We were nothing, right?"
Don't wanna lose you now, I know we can win this, Don't wanna lose you now, No no, or ever again.
"Gia no." Nik objected. "When I was shot, just before I was shot, I was going to tell you something. I was going to tell you that I loved you."
Gia shook her head as she turned away from him. "No, Nikolas. You don't love me. We were lonely, there was nobody else, that's all."
I've got this feeling, you're not gonna stay, It's burning within me The fear of losing, of slipping away, It just keep getting closer,
"No Gia. That's not it." Nik said, shaking his head and taking her chin in his hand, causing her to look him in the eyes. "That's not true. I've loved you since the first night we slept together. I would do anything for you Gia...anything. I love you."
Whatever reason to leave that I've had, My place was always beside you And I wish that I didn't need you so bad, Your face just won't go away.
"You have to believe me Gia." Nik said, looking in her eyes and seeing the inner conflict that was stirring inside of her. "Gia, if you leave me, I don't know what I'll do."
Don't wanna lose you now, I know we can win this, Don't wanna lose you now, No no, or ever again.
Gia couldn't stop the tears from flowing. She had always followed her heart, and this time her heart led her to Nikolas. She had followed her heart once, with Sean and he had broken it. There was nothing to promise it wouldn't happen again with Nikolas. With Sonny, it was all in the eyes of the public. He was steady and secure, and he could keep her safe. This was the exception. The one time she couldn't follow her heart. "No, Nikolas." Gia cried, breaking free of his grasp and pushing her chair out so quickly it fell beneath her. "I have to go. I have to leave. I love Sonny. Goodbye."
I never thought that I would lose my mind, That I could control this, Never thought that I'd be left behind, that I was stronger than you.
Long after Gia had fled the room, Nik stayed frozen in his bed. Everything hurt. He head, his shoulder, but most of all his heart. He felt as someone had actually ripped it out, and was stomping on it. He had remembered the one thing that had gotten him through his heartbreak with Elizabeth. A saying that his mother had told him over and over again long before she died.
It is better to have loved and lost, than to have never loved at all.
It had helped him before, but he suspected that this time, he would need more than words to heal his wounded heart.

Alluring Stranger-Part 17
Gia sat on the ledge and looked out the window in the cottage. She had been rescued from the island by Sonny 3 days ago, but she couldn't stop thinking about Nikolas.
It's not that I can't live without you, It's just that I don't even want to try, Everynight I dream about you, Ever since the day I said goodbye.
She was yearning for his touch, but she had left it behind. She had chosen to do what people expected her to do, rather than what her heart had told her to do, and she was miserable because of it.
If I wasn't such a fool, Right now I'd be holding you, There's nothing that I wouldn't do, Baby if I only knew.
She was regretting coming back to PC with Sonny, but she knew she couldn't go back to Nik. She didn't think he would ever forgive her.
The words to say, the road to take, To find a way back to your heart, What can I do, to get to you, And find a way back to your heart.
Ever since she got back, Sonny had been on the phone, or out on business. She saw him as much as she did when she was trapped on the island...never. She remember what Nik had said to her before she left. He had said that he loved her and he would do anything for her. Sonny had said the same thing, but where was he now?
I don't know how it got so crazy, But I'd do anything to set things right, Cuz your love is amazing, Baby you're the best thing in my life.
Something told her that Nik would've kept his promise. But Gia couldn't go back to him. Not now. He had offered his heart to her, and she refused. If she could, she would try to prove it to him that she loved him, and Sonny meant nothing to her anymore, but couldn't.
Let me prove my love is real, And make you feel the way I feel I promise I would give the world, If only you would tell me please
She suddenly remembered how she felt when she was with Nikolas. Every emotion she had ever known had flooded her system, but there was one that was isolated from the rest. Love. She couldn't give up on that love. Even if Nik wouldn't forgive her, she had to try. And it he wouldn't forgive her, then it wasn't mean to be.
Give me one more chance, To give my love to you, Cuz no one on this earth, Loves you like I do.
She knew or sure that no matter what happened with Nik, she wouldn't return to Sonny. No matter what.
Tell me, The words to say, the road to take, To find a way back to your heart, What can I do, to get to you, And find a way back to your heart
Gia would do anything to have Nik. She would give her life. Anything just to have him.
I'd turn back time to make you mine, And find a way back to heart, I beg and plead fall to my knees, To find a way back to your heart.

Alluring Stranger-Part 18
Nik sat alone in the "forest" thinking of Gia. He was miserable without her, and nothing could make the pain go away.
Close the door, Shut the world away, All the fight's gone from this wounded heart, Across the floor, Dreams and shadows play, Like wind blown refugees.
His heart was broken, and there was nothing that he could do to heal it. Nik had been through this before and he knew first hand that it was a long road to recovery, a road he didn't wish to go down again.
Call the one, Who deals in love beyond repair, She can heal the world, Of hearts in need of care, Shine a light ahead, When the next step is unclear, Call the one, Who's needed here.
He looked up at the house, at the window of Gia's bedroom. He could smell her perfume right now, even though she was half-way across the world. The worst part is that nothing he could do would bring her back to him.
I close my eyes, I remember when, Your sweet love filled this empty room, The tears I cry, Won't bring it back again, Unless the lonely star should fall.
Nik he’d lost so much to Sonny. He lost his land, which now meant nothing to him. The important things he lost were the ones that hurt. He lost his mother, and now the woman he loved more than he ever thought imaginable.
Call the one, Who deals in love beyond repair, She can heal the world, Of hearts in need of care, Shine a light ahead, When the next step is unclear, Call the one, Who's needed here.
Nik's brain was spinning and he didn't know what to do. He had nowhere to go. No one to see. He had nothing.
Needed in the chaos and confusion, From the plains to city hall, Needed where the proud who walk, the wire are set to fall.
Nik's life was meaningless to him, and he saw no reason for continuing with it.
Call the one, Who deals in once upon a time, Maybe she, Can mend this broken heart of mine, Shine a light ahead, Now the future isn't clear, Call the one Who's needed here.
Nik was fully prepared to take his life. He relocated himself to what had once been Gia's bedroom and was about to end himself, when he spotted her little black dress sitting on the table. When she packed she came back into his room and told him that she had packed everything she needed to be with Sonny. Did that mean that she really wanted to be with him? He couldn't take the chance of her coming back, ready to love him, and finding him dead. So he put down his weapon, and curled up in her bed, clutching her dress to his broken heart.

Alluring Stranger-Part 19
Gia bounced down the stairs of the cottage, and surprisingly found Sonny sitting on the couch. She hadn't seen him for days, he had been off on business, so his presence caught her off guard.
"Sonny?" Gia asked, shocked that he was just sitting there, but when she walked around the couch, she saw his laptop and papers strewn all over the table. "Oh. Sonny we have to talk."
"Sure Gia." Sonny agreed, never swaying his eyes from his computer. "What about?"
"Sonny, did you kill Nikolas' mother?" she asked.
Sonny's eyes darkened, and he turned towards her, with rage in his eyes. "Gia, why are you asking me this?"
"Nikolas told me that you did." Gia admitted, her eyes dropping to her lap. She couldn't stand to look him in the eyes, knowing that he was a murderer.
"Yes Gia." Sonny replied, nodding. "Yes, I did."
Gia heart dropped to her stomach. She knew before now that it was true, but there was something about actually hearing him say it, that made her sick. She sighed, and lifted herself off the couch. She walked over to the cottage door, and swung it open. She turned around and glanced over the cottage, memories flooding her mind.
"Gia?" Sonny asked. "Where are you going?"
Gia looked at him for a moment, contemplating on whether this was the right decision. After a few moments she made her choice. "I'm going out." she replied.
"Oh." Sonny said, turning back to his work. "When are you going to be back?"
Gia took a deep breath and said, "Never." before leaving the cottage feeling refreshed and ready for anything.
~*The Island*~
Nik sat in Gia's bedroom, still holding her dress. He held the dress to his face, drinking in her scent. He knew it was a slim chance he was holding onto that she would come back to him, but a single article of clothing gave him hope.
He remembered what it was like when she was there with him. He felt happy for once in his life. With Liz it always felt like there was a weight on his shoulders, but with Gia it felt like the weight had been removed and he was a light as a feather. He was free to be himself with Gia, and he had never experienced that before. He was used to acting the way people wanted him to act, and only with Gia, was he able to open up and be himself. The true Nikolas Cassadine. The Nikolas who could go skinny dipping in the ocean at 2:00 am. The Nikolas who could have a slice of leftover pizza for breakfast. The Nikolas who would fly across the world to get an bouquet of exotic flowers if it would make her happy. Gia was so carefree, so determined to enjoy life, and her style of living had rubbed off on him. He thought of all the fun times they had together before she left, and the memory of her leaving him made tears pour down his face. Just as he burst into a fit of sobs, he heard a voice at the doorway. A voice he had been waiting to hear. A voice he had been longing to hear.
"Nikolas?"
Nik's head whipped around, and when he saw Gia standing at the doorway, his face lit up with joy. "Gia?!"
Gia nodded her head. "Nikolas, is it too late to change my mind?"

Alluring Stranger-Part 20 Conclusion
Gia and Nik layed in each others arms, feeling their hearts beat as one. The previous night they had made love. True love. Not sex between a kidnapper and a kidnappee (i don't think that's even a word, but i used it anyways. lol) but as true people who were truly and genuinely in love.
"Nikolas?" Gia asked quietly.
"Hmm?" Nikolas muttered.
"I'm sorry." she said, her voice gentle and soft.
"For what?" Nik asked, his lips pressing gentle kisses along her neck.
"For going with Sonny. For not telling you that I loved you. For--"
Nik seized her rambling with his mouth closing over hers.
"Gia," Nik said. "I don't care. That's not important to me. You're here now. That's what matters."
A single tear of joy fell down Gia's cheek as she wrapped her arms around his neck. "Oh Nikolas. I love you."
"I love you too, Gia." Nik replied.
In the middle of their intimate moment, Nik's cell phone rang, startling them both.
Nik groaned as he reached over and picked up his phone.
"Hello?" he asked groggily. "What?! How? Oh...Hmm. Alright. Thank you."
"What is it?" Gia asked, in between kisses.
"Sonny is dead." Nik stately bluntly.
Gia froze in her position. "What?!"
"Yes. He was shot outside the cottage...was killed instantly." Nik looked in a daze. He had wished *revenge* on Nik for killing his mother, but never death.
Gia was speechless. She didn't love Sonny, but she never wanted him to die. If it had been a month before she would have been devastated, but now, not a single tear was shed. Gia was too busy thinking about the love she had with Nikolas. The true, pure love. The love that could not be forgotten.
Nikolas held Gia tight, and she returned his strength, gripping his waist. They layed in each others arms, knowing that they had overcome all odds. They had surpassed all the obstacles, and flew over all the boundaries. So many things were standing in their way, and yet, there they were, in each other's arms, and they then knew that true love had conquered over all.
